Regula 4167 can be used as a portable device (powered by batteries) and a desktop unit (powered by USB 2.0). Light sources can be activated on the device's upper panel or with the help of Regula Forensic Studio software when the light table is connected to a PC.

The light table is often used as an independent tool to check security features in transmitted light but it can be also used as a supplemental device to extend the functionality of other devices for authenticity checks.
