Why this matters for identity verification
The immediate concern after a breach is usually phishing. However, the bigger question for businesses is what they still trust. If a verification flow treats correct personal details as strong evidence, a breach changes the risk model. Once attackers can buy or combine the same data a real customer would provide, organizations need stronger proof: a genuine document, live biometric presence, and session context that fits the expected user.
