Regula Has Cooperated With Spanish App Developers to Help Launch Voluntary Support Network for Elderly People

Regula has recently cooperated with the Spanish social startup KUVU and the development team SQUAREETLABS in creation and launch of the free app COVIDA in order to support the vulnerable elderly people throughout Spain during the current public health crisis.

The main objective of the application is to protect elderly people by arranging the system of support provided by volunteers so that the elderly could handle the situation while staying at home. The registered volunteers contact the elderly via phone to deliver medicine, food or other necessary products.

Due to the integration of Regula Document Reader SDK, COVIDA application now allows for authenticity verification of the volunteer’s ID at the first stage of the registration process. By verifying the volunteer's ID, the service guarantees safety and security of its users.

In less than a week after the launch of COVIDA on 17 March 2020, the number of users has exceeded 2,000 in 12 different autonomous communities of Spain. To be even more accurate, the application already interconnects more than 1,100 volunteers and 988 elderly people, with the largest number of them living in the Canary Islands. The social initiative has already been supported by the Government of the Canary Islands.
