Regula Supplies the Office of the Attorney General of Colombia with Best-in-Class Forensic Equipment
The Office of the Attorney General chooses Regula to boost effectiveness against counterfeiting and adulteration of its newly founded forensic lab.
Regula, a global developer of forensic devices and identity verification solutions, won a public procurement held by the Office of the Attorney General of Colombia for equipping a forensic lab with multi-purpose forensic equipment. The project scope included the Dual-Video Spectral Comparator Regula 4308S, Information Reference System, Regula Face SDK, and specialized training.
The Office of the Attorney General is the most authoritative institution in forensic examination at the state level. In 2022, they faced the serious task of establishing a brand-new forensic lab to support their investigative work.
The ideal solution needed to have the ultimate capabilities for all possible in-depth forensic examinations of documents, banknotes, and other items. Also, a crucial prerequisite was the level of support: the supplier needed to be present in Colombia and be able to provide robust post-sale service and training. After exploring the capabilities offered by multiple providers, the organization made a choice in favor of proceeding with Regula.
Dual-Video Spectral Comparator Regula 4308S gained the upper hand thanks to its optical system with the best-in-class optical magnification and resolution. Thanks to its advanced lighting system, Columbian forensic experts can now detect and highlight even the tiniest irregularities on the surface of an object at up to 320x optical magnification. As the device comes with a spectrometer and a hyperspectral analysis module, the experts can effectively tackle the wide range of tasks a forensic lab of national importance might encounter.
