The templates are built from verified document specimens and continuously updated, which can reduce the need for fallback vendors when organizations serve globally distributed user bases.
All Regula’s document and biometric technologies are developed fully in-house, with no OEM components. They are also lisensed by other identity verification providers, which is another indication of the depth of the underlying technology. Apart from that, Regula cooperates with ICAO and INTERPOL.
Beyond document recognition and data extraction, it examines security features and cross-checks multiple sources of identity information, including data stored in NFC chips.

The identity data collected during a session can also be re-verified on the server, including document data, NFC chip data, and biometrics. This provides an additional check in a trusted environment. Session data and supporting artifacts can also be securely retained on the server, so identity verification cases can be revisited. This gives organizations access to the evidence behind a decision rather than only a pass-or-fail result.
