Two optical systems

Equipped with top and bottom cameras with resolutions of 14 and 12 MP respectively, the comparator can easily change the sides of observation and increase the field of view. This streamlines the examination process, enabling analysis of fragile or damaged items without turning them over

Motorized oblique lights

The special motorized system of oblique lighting enables more detailed relief examinations by exploring raised and recessed areas on a surface in the visible and IR spectrum ranges, with the possibility to save settings and repeat accurate examination results.

Motorized movable object stage

The XY translation stage (110x70 mm) allows for high-performance positioning and micro displacements with a 0.01 mm pace of examined objects in automated mode. This streamlines examination at high magnification while eliminating the need to touch objects, including fragile items.

3D visualization

Possibility to build a 3D-model of a document fragment to examine surface relief, identify the sequence of strokes at their intersections, like signatures, handwritten text and laser printer toner.

Embedded high-resolution spectrometer

Since a spectrometer is an integral part of the device, it enables spectral analysis of ink characteristics in documents and handwritten texts without additional equipment

Hyperspectral image analysis

With the ability to capture reflected signal intensity between 395 and 1000 nm, the hyperspectral imaging module allows forensic experts to perform comparison of ink optical characteristics, identifying alterations, and restoring barely visible or faded text fragments for accurate document examination.

Automated document verification in seconds

With an automated module for identity document authentication, experts can instantly and automatically validate and cross-check data extracted from the machine-readable zone, RFID chip, barcodes, Invisible Personal Information (IPI), LetterScreen, and other security features of IDs.

Biometric facial identification

To reveal sophisticated fraudulent alterations in identity documents, the software matches the photo in the visual inspection zone with the one stored in the RFID chip and barcode, as well as images from other sources, such as another document, a database, or a web camera.

Creation scenarios for quick automated examinations

Built-in features for creating macros streamline the examination process by setting the sequence of actions for automating repetitive actions using light sources and filters.

HDR for excellent imaging

High dynamic range (HDR) allows for setting different exposures while shooting images of the same object. This enables capturing sharper and more contrast images or videos, especially under UV illuminators, to reveal all intricacies during examination.

Super resolution images

In case an ultra-detailed image is needed for examination, the device can take a series of photos, merging them into a final shot that depicts every minute detail.

Cross-platform support

Regula 4308M can be run and operated on any of the popular platforms, including Windows, Linux and macOS (tbd)

Multifocus for shaped objects

To capture high-quality images of dimensional items with complex shapes, the device takes a series of shots while adjusting the focus.

Smart reporting

Reporting allows examiners to collect evidence throughout the inspection process and automatically assemble them into a structured report. Images, comparison results, security feature analysis, and processed fragments can be added directly from any workspace tab, without interrupting the examination. All selected materials are then compiled in the dedicated Reports tab, where the user can edit text, arrange visuals, format the layout, and export the final report in convenient formats such as DOC or PDF.

This set of compact mirrors is designed to assist in document authentication. One mirror is specifically for examining the document edge, allowing for a detailed look at the serial number and the passport stitch line. The other mirror is intended for observing the OVI (Optically Variable Ink) features.
